2021 Annual Form and Ethics and Sunshine Training Declaration Form due Thursday, April 1 2021. Learn More.
City officers and designated employees must file Form 700 (Statement of Economic Interest) to disclose their reportable financial interests when assuming office, annually thereafter, and when leaving office, covering three distinct reporting periods. The following sections provide details regarding the filing deadlines.
|Reporting Period Covered||Filing Due Date|
|Assuming Office||12 months prior to the date you assumed office through your start date||Within 30 days of the date you were sworn in or authorized to serve in your position|
|Annual||January 1st – December 31st of the previous calendar year||April 1st every year. This year the deadline is on June 1, 2020.|
|Leaving Office||Period following your last Form 700 filing, up to your last day in this position||No later than 30 days after leaving your office or position|
Exceptions for annual filing: If you assumed office between October 1, 2020 and May 31, 2021 and filed an assuming office Form 700 then you do not need to file an annual Form 700 the following year and must file the year after. The first Form 700 will be due by April 1, 2022 and cover the day after assuming office through December 31, 2021.
What happens if you don’t file on time? There is no provision in the state law to extend the Form 700 filing deadlines. Statements filed late are subject to a late fee of $10 per day per position up to a maximum of $100 for each day the statement is late. Visit the late filing and enforcement page to learn more.
What are other related filing deadlines? City officers who file Form 700 with the Ethics Commission may also be required to complete Ethics and Sunshine Ordinance Training. Visit the Ethics and Sunshine Training page to learn about those requirements.
