ETHICS COMMISSION ANNOUNCES SETTLEMENT OF COMPLAINTS
At a special meeting on February 27, 2006, the San Francisco Ethics Commission announced the following actions:
1) The Commission entered into a settlement agreement with Renee Saucedo for Supervisor, ID No. 1263784, Genevie Gallegos, treasurer, Ethics Complaint No. NRF-14-050921, to resolve a complaint that Respondents failed to file semi-annual campaign finance disclosure statements for the period of January 1, 2005 to June 30, 2005 on a timely basis. Respondents will pay a settlement amount of $550.
2) The Commission entered into a settlement agreement with Housing Rights Association, ID No. 1245525, Frank Smith, treasurer, and Davy Jones, president, Ethics Complaint No. NRF-11-050921, to resolve a complaint that Respondents failed to file a semi-annual campaign finance disclosure statement for the period of January 1, 2005 to June 30, 2005 on a timely basis. Respondents will pay a settlement amount of $600.
3) The Commission entered into a settlement agreement with Sunset Community Democratic Club, ID No. 901749, Avrum Shepard, treasurer, Ethics Complaint No. NRF-15-050921, to resolve a complaint that Respondents failed to file a semi-annual campaign finance disclosure statement for the period of January 1, 2005 to June 30, 2005. Respondents will pay a settlement amount of $200.
4) The Commission entered into a settlement agreement with Pascal for Supervisor, ID No. 1268650, David Pascal, candidate, and Paul Hayward, treasurer, Ethics Complaint No. NRF-13-050921, to resolve a complaint that Respondents failed to file a semi-annual campaign finance disclosure statement for the period of January 1, 2005 to June 30, 2005. Respondents will pay a settlement amount of $200.
5) The Commission entered into a settlement agreement with the Committee for Proposition W, ID No. 870847, Ethics Complaint No. NRF-01-050921, to resolve a complaint that Respondents failed to file a semi-annual campaign finance disclosure statement for the period of July 1, 2004 to December 31, 2004 on a timely basis. Respondents will pay a settlement amount of $1,100.
6) The Commission held a Hearing on the Merits in open session and dismissed Complaint No. NRF-56-041231 against David Parker for Supervisor, ID No. PEN608, Edgar "David" Parker, candidate, because Respondents demonstrated that they were not required to file a campaign finance disclosure statement for the period of January 1, 2004 to June 30, 2004.
The Commission will hold its next regular monthly meeting on March 21, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 408 City Hall.

The Ethics Commission, established in November 1993, serves the public, City employees and officials and candidates for public office through education and enforcement of ethics laws. Its duties include: filing and auditing of campaign finance disclosure statements, lobbyist and campaign consultant registration and regulation, administration of the public financing program, whistleblower program, conflict of interest reporting, investigations and enforcement, education and training, advice giving and statistical reporting.
