SUMMARY OF ACTIONS TAKEN AT MARCH 14, 2011 MEETING
At its meeting on March 14, 2011, the San Francisco Ethics Commission took the following actions:
- By a vote of 4-0, approved a request from Office of Economic and Workforce Development employee Kyri S. McClellan for waivers from the one-year post employment communications ban and the ban on compensation from contractors under San Francisco Campaign and Governmental Conduct Code sections 3.234(a)(2) and 3.234(a)(3), respectively, so that she could assume the executive director position on the San Francisco America’s Cup Organizing Committee.
- Discussed and received public comment on policy directives to amend the Campaign Finance Reform Ordinance to modify and streamline disclaimer and disclosure requirements for candidates and committees spending funds in local elections and to eliminate the overall limit on contributions to all candidates on the ballot in a single election.
The Commission’s next scheduled meeting will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 408 City Hall.

The Ethics Commission, established in November 1993, serves the public, City employees and officials and candidates for public office through education and enforcement of ethics laws. Its duties include: filing and auditing of campaign finance disclosure statements, lobbyist and campaign consultant registration and regulation, administration of the public financing program, whistleblower program, conflict of interest reporting, investigations and enforcement, education and training, advice giving and statistical reporting.
