At its meeting of March 26, 2012, the Ethics Commission randomly selected five committees to be audited. These five committees were selected from a pool of 66 committees that were active in elections during the calendar year 2011. The audit pool of 66 committees was categorized into three levels of financial activity with one committee selected from Financial Activity Level 1 ($10,000 to $50,000), one committee selected from Financial Activity Level 2 (above $50,000 to $100,000) and three committees selected from Financial Activity Level 3 (above $100,000).
