SUMMARY OF ACTIONS TAKEN AT DECEMBER 16, 2014 SPECIAL MEETING
At its special meeting on December 16, 2014, the San Francisco Ethics Commission took the following actions:
- Discussed with the City Attorney’s Office in closed session potential litigation by the City Attorney’s Office against local committees, including Common Sense Voters, SF 2010; Vote for Mark Farrell for District 2 Supervisor, for violations of local campaign finance laws.
- Reviewed and discussed Lobbyist Ordinance fact sheets prepared by law students at the UC Hastings Center for State & Local Government Law.
- By a vote of 3-1 (Andrews dissenting, Hayon excused), resolved to recommend to the Board of Supervisors that proposed legislation changing permit consultant reporting rules require permit consultants to disclose compensation from clients only after that compensation meets a monetary threshold.
- By a vote of 4-0 (Hayon excused), approved certain policies for Sunshine Ordinance Task Force referrals to the Ethics Commission.
The next regular meeting of the Commission will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 in Room 400 City Hall at 5:30 pm.

The Ethics Commission, established in November 1993, serves the public, City employees and officials and candidates for public office through education and enforcement of ethics laws. Its duties include: filing and auditing of campaign finance disclosure statements, lobbyist and campaign consultant registration and regulation, administration of the public financing program, whistleblower program, conflict of interest reporting, investigations and enforcement, education and training, advice giving and statistical reporting.
