ETHICS COMMISSION ANNOUNCES
DETERMINATION OF PROBABLE CAUSE
At a special meeting on August 7, 2006, the San Francisco Ethics Commission announced the following action:
- In the matter of Ethics Complaint Number 31-021004, the Commission made a determination that there is probable cause to believe that the respondent, Julie DeGregorio, committed the following violations:
- Failure to register and pay fees as campaign consultant for Friends of Tony Hall for Supervisor, in violation of San Francisco Campaign and Governmental Conduct Code Sections 1.510, 1.515(a) & (c);
- Failure to file a Client Authorization Statement as campaign consultant for Friends of Tony Hall for Supervisor, in violation of SF C&GCC Sections 1.510, 1.515(d);
- Failure to file a 1st Quarter Report (12/1/03-2/29/04) as campaign consultant for Friends of Tony Hall for Supervisor, in violation of SF C&GCC Sections 1.510, 1.515(e);
- Failure to file a 2nd Quarter Report (3/1/04 – 5/31/04) as campaign consultant for Friends of Tony Hall for Supervisor, in violation of SF C&GCC Sections 1.510, 1.515(e);
- Failure to file a 3rd Quarter Report (6/1/04 – 8/31/04) as campaign consultant for Friends of Tony Hall for Supervisor, in violation of SF C&GCC Sections 1.510, 1.515(e);
- Failure to file a 4th Quarter Report (9/1/04 – 11/30/04) as campaign consultant for Friends of Tony Hall for Supervisor, in violation of SF C&GCC Sections 1.510, 1.515(e);
- Failure to file Client Termination Statement as campaign consultant for Friends of Tony Hall for Supervisor, in violation of SF C&GCC Sections 1.510, 1.515(f);
- Failure to timely file a 4th Quarter Report (9/1/05 – 11/30/05) as campaign consultant for Ron Chun for Assessor, in violation of SF C&GCC Sections 1.510, 1.515(e);
- Failure to timely register and pay fees as campaign consultant for San Franciscans for Doris Ward in violation of SF C&GCC Sections 1.510, 1.515(a) & (c); and
- Failure to timely file a Client Authorization Statement as campaign consultant for San Franciscans for Doris Ward in violation of SF C&GCC Sections 1.510 and 1.515(d).
The respondent is presumed to be innocent unless and until such time that the allegations are proved in a subsequent hearing on the merits.
The Commission will hold its next regular monthly meeting on August 14, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 408 City Hall.

The Ethics Commission, established in November 1993, serves the public, City employees and officials and candidates for public office through education and enforcement of ethics laws. Its duties include: filing and auditing of campaign finance disclosure statements, lobbyist and campaign consultant registration and regulation, administration of the public financing program, whistleblower program, conflict of interest reporting, investigations and enforcement, education and training, advice giving and statistical reporting.
