SUMMARY OF ACTIONS TAKEN AT APRIL 11, 2011 MEETING
At its meeting on April 11, 2011, the San Francisco Ethics Commission took the following actions:
- By a vote of 5-0, approved an amendment to San Francisco Campaign and Governmental Conduct Code section 3.234(b)(2) to permit an appointed Mayor who does not seek candidacy for that office to obtain full-time City employment within one year of leaving office. The amendment restricts the former Mayor to obtaining a position that, in the first year, pays no more than the salary that he or she received immediately prior to appointment as Mayor.
- Considered a draft letter to Dr. Judy Melinek, including formal written advice, regarding section III.B.3 of the Statement of Incompatible Activities (SIA) for the General Services Agency (GSA). After discussion, Dr. Melinek withdrew her request for advice. Commission members directed staff to meet informally with GSA staff to discuss possible changes to the GSA SIA.
- Discussed a draft of the public finance report regarding the 2010 election. The report will be posted on the Commission’s website.
The Commission’s next scheduled meeting will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 408 City Hall.
