SUMMARY OF ACTIONS TAKEN AT MAY 9, 2011 MEETING
At its meeting on May 9, 2011, the San Francisco Ethics Commission took the following actions:
- Discussed and received public testimony about possible amendments to the Statement of Incompatible Activities (SIA) for the San Francisco Public Library. The Commission instructed staff and the Library to develop a provision to govern activities that may result in undue influence by officers of the Library.
- Discussed and, by a vote of 4-0, approved the following policy priorities for the current year: (1) Mayoral Public Financing Program; (2) Campaign Consultant Ordinance; (3) Staff Building; and (4) Education and Outreach.
The Commission’s next scheduled meeting will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 408 City Hall.

The Ethics Commission, established in November 1993, serves the public, City employees and officials and candidates for public office through education and enforcement of ethics laws. Its duties include: filing and auditing of campaign finance disclosure statements, lobbyist and campaign consultant registration and regulation, administration of the public financing program, whistleblower program, conflict of interest reporting, investigations and enforcement, education and training, advice giving and statistical reporting.
