Nature of Contract
The SFMTA currently reimburses BART $1.21 per Fast Pass® trip taken on BART within San Francisco. Under the new contract, in effect through FY 2020, this rate would increase to $1.27 through January 1, 2016 when BART’s fares are scheduled to increase based on adjustments to the Bay Area Consumer Price Index (CPI). Because ridership is unknown at this time, exact contract expenditures are also unknown.
