In 2014, the Ethics Commission implemented mandatory electronic filing of the Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) for elected officials, department heads, and members of boards and commissions. The electronically filed statements are available in PDF for review on the Commission’s web site.
The staff of the San Francisco Ethics Commission will hold an interested persons meetings to discuss the possible implementation of machine-readable datasets and/or a web site to search the contents of electronically filed Form 700s. Discussion at the interested persons meetings will be limited to this topic.
Staff is specifically interested in soliciting public comment on how the public might use the data and desirable technical features. Attached is a list of potential data fields to export and/or search (Updated 2.23.15).
