Regulatory Background
The Ethics Commission administers San Franciso’s Public Campaign Financing Program for Mayoral and Supervisorial candidates. Pursuant to Campaign & Governmental Conduct Code (“C&GCC”) section 1.156, the Commission is required to submit a report to the Mayor and the Board of Supervisors following each election in which the Mayor and members of the Board of Supervisors are elected. This report must identify the amount of public funds used in the election and provide any other relevant information deemed relevant by the Commission.
The attached Post-Election Report summarizes and analyzes various campaign finance information, including regarding the use of public funds, in connection with the November 5, 2024, election for Mayor and odd-numbered Supervisorial districts. Following the March 14, 2025, Commission meeting, Staff will refer the attached report to the Mayor and the Board of Supervisors.
