To: Departmental Filing Officers:
Subject: July 2022 Form 700 Information Updates | New and Updated Online Resources
This communication is to share with you some new and updated online resources the Ethics Commission has recently launched to assist you with your filing officer responsibilities.
New How-to Video Tutorials
First, as promised, several short “how-to” video tutorials have been produced by our staff to demonstrate how to perform various specific tasks in the NetFile Admin System. These “NetFile How-to Video Tutorials” can be linked directly here and can also be accessed through the Filing Officers web page under the section entitled ‘Resources for Filing Officers.’
Revised Filing Officer Manual
Additionally, a revised version of the Filing Officer Manual is available online. The updated version includes new sections covering late filer procedures and reports, and updates several existing sections.
2022 Post Annual Filing Procedures
Also, by now you should have completed applicable steps outlined in sections 1-3 of the 2022 Post-Annual Filing Deadline Procedures Guide provided on April 14th, and if pertinent, initiated late filer procedures for any filers that had an annual Form 700 due on April 1, 2022, but have not yet filed. As a reminder, late filer procedures are required for all filing events (i.e., annual, assuming office and leaving office). ‘Late Filer Procedures’ are detailed in the Filing Officer Manual.
Please refer to the above resources as well as additional information and resources pertaining to the Form 700 – Statement of Economic Interests available on the Ethics Commission’s website. If you feel that you or your team have additional training needs, please reach out so we can arrange a training session. As an additional reminder, we encourage you to submit Form 700-related questions to the Ethics Commission’s Form 700 Portal for timely assistance.
