NOTICE OF INTERESTED PERSONS MEETING REGARDING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM ORDINANCE
The San Francisco Ethics Commission will convene a meeting of interested persons to discuss proposed amendments to the Campaign Finance Reform Ordinance, San Francisco Campaign and Governmental Conduct Code section 1.100 et seq. (“CFRO”). The proposed amendments, among other things, refine and conform definitions, eliminate or streamline reporting requirements, authorize greater use of electronic filing, adjust limits and expenditure ceilings, clarify the permissible uses of campaign funds, provide that certain candidates are eligible to accept Voluntary Expenditure Ceilings, modify how public funds are disbursed to eligible candidates, reduce the number of publicly financed candidate committees that the Ethics Commission must audit, clarify requirements for third party reporting, amend the statute of limitations for administrative actions, and impose record retention requirements on local committees.

At this interested persons meeting, staff will present draft amendments prior to their presentation to the Ethics Commission for consideration. A copy of the proposed amendments is available at the Commission office and website.
