The Ethics Commission’s Staff will be holding an information session for candidates in the November 2018 election and their treasurers on the following date:
Tuesday, June 12, 2018
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Room 70, 25 Van Ness Avenue,
San Francisco, CA 94102
Staff members will be available immediately following the session to meet individually with candidates and their committee representatives who may wish further guidance on specific questions.
We ask that those planning to attend the session to R.S.V.P. by Monday, June 11, 2018 to ensure sufficient seating and materials.
Under City law, candidates for City elective office and their treasurers (and assistant treasurers who sign and verify campaign statements) must attend a training conducted by the Ethics Commission prior to each election in which the candidate’s name will appear on the ballot.
An individual who serves as the treasurer for more than one committee is not required to attend a training if that individual has attended such a training within the previous 12 months. (See San Francisco Campaign & Governmental Conduct Code § 1.107).
Please note that the information session on June 12 is specifically customized for November 2018 candidates and their treasurers. Information about additional training opportunities for candidates and their treasurers, as well as information sessions for other committee treasurers for the November 2018 election, will be posted on the Ethics Commission’s website as details are confirmed.
For questions or assistance please contact the Ethics Commission at ethics.commission@sfgov.org or (415) 252-3100. We will be happy to assist you.
