Staff from the San Francisco Ethics Commission will be holding a series of Candidate and Treasurer information sessions for the June 2018 City elections beginning in January 2018. The first of these sessions will be held on:
Thursday, January 4, 2018
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Room 70, 25 Van Ness Avenue,
San Francisco, CA 94102
Ethics Commission Staff will be available immediately following the session to meet individually with candidates and committee representatives seeking further guidance on specific questions.
We ask that those planning to attend the session to R.S.V.P. by Wednesday, January 3, 2018 to ensure sufficient seating and materials.
Under City law, Candidates for City elective office and their treasurers (and assistant treasurers who sign and verify campaign statements) must attend a training conducted by the Ethics Commission prior to each election in which the candidate’s name will appear on the ballot.
- An individual who serves as the treasurer for more than one committee is not required to attend a training if that individual has attended such a training within the previous 12 months. (See San Francisco Campaign & Governmental Conduct Code § 1.107.)
- Campaign managers, consultants, volunteers and other campaign representatives are welcome to attend.
Information about future sessions for the June 2018 and November 2018 elections will appear on the Ethics Commission’s website as new dates are confirmed.
To confirm attendance, please email the Ethics Commission at ethics.commission@sfgov.org and provide the names of all attendees, along with their email and telephone number, and the Candidate’s name and office sought. Please feel free to contact us at (415) 252-3100 with any questions.
